Leasing Consultant (Temporary)

Location: Owings Mills, MD
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM, with occasional Saturday coverage required
Employment Type: Temporary Assignment

Position Overview

We are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Leasing Consultant to support the daily operations of a residential apartment community in the Owings Mills area. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.

The Leasing Consultant will assist with leasing activities, resident communication, administrative tasks, and community engagement while helping create a positive experience for prospective and current residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective residents, visitors, and current tenants.
  • Answer phones, respond to email and online inquiries, and schedule appointments.
  • Conduct property tours and provide information on available apartment homes and community amenities.
  • Follow up with prospective residents and assist them through the application process.
  • Process applications, lease documentation, and resident paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Maintain resident and prospect files in accordance with company standards.
  • Address resident concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Receive and document service requests and follow up on resident satisfaction.
  • Track leasing activity, prospect traffic, and community outreach efforts.
  • Assist with resident events, marketing initiatives, and community engagement activities.
  • Support general office operations, including filing, data entry, scanning, and other administrative duties.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, administrative support, sales, or leasing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional, polished, and customer-focused demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email and data entry.
  • Experience operating standard office equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Availability to work Saturdays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Apartment leasing experience.
  • Property management experience.
  • Familiarity with Yardi or other property management software.
  • Strong sales and relationship-building skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the community as needed.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors during property tours and community activities.
